If you’d like to dig deeply into my personal life, facebook does a way better job than I can be bothered to do at linking to all the people and things that interest me:
For the more marginally interested majority of you, I’m a post-doctoral research scientist at the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
I live in New York with my beautiful wife Thida,
And our two lovely daughters,
Tegan, and Kira.
Though I have had some knee troubles in recent years I am an avid cyclist and commuter cycling advocate.
I also like climbing and bouldering.
And have recently renewed my interest in jazz and classical trumpet.
My newest hobby is cutting pieces of wood with my new jigsaw, fixing them together with my new cordless drill/driver in simple but practical ways, sanding them down with my new palm sander, carrying them through the house without asking for help and still not bumping the walls, and then using them to store our things.
I am currently looking for more things to store, so as to keep this hobby alive.
