I am currently a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington, DC.

My research is focused on coupled-natural human systems, primarily in agriculture. I am interested in integrating solid experimental and survey data on behavior into coupled models of decision making; I'm less interested in the work that goes into developing the high-fidelity natural systems data in coupled models, but interested in working with people who enjoy that side of things. I am involved in a number of projects currently; those with published results are highlighted on my research page.

Jizoku?

I was in the last stages of being an irritating white-guy Japan nerd when I went looking for a domain name in 2006. It is still with me now. Jizoku is the Japanese word for continuation. It appears in the word jizoku kanou, which means sustainable. I still think it's kind of cool, but looking back, I admit to thinking, "Hey 26-year old Andrew, dial it back a notch. We get it. You went to Japan."

I am just getting started (again). Please check back frequently.
